"One measure of leadership is the caliber of people who choose to follow you."
A year ago Apple released the iPhone for public consumption. I went to an Apple store to check it out and wound up buying one. A friend of mine published some blog articles about how bad it was and I took him to task for it. Now one year later, it’s time to look at it and see what I really think.
The Rails team was hard at work and they recently released a new version of Rails; 2.0. Since I’ve got some time over the holiday break I’ve decided to jump in with it.

Previously I took my friend Jeff Kirvin to task for his article on the iPhone, having written his review sight unseen and declaring it terrible. Jeff has since educated himself a bit.
A friend of mine, when I asked his opinion of the iPhone, responded with an article on his site basically blasting the phone. In essence stating that it’s a bad phone. Is he right? Well not being one to stand down from a good fight, I came up with a rebuttal.
We are now into the third day of the iPhone phenomena. There was the requisite amount of grief across the country as stores sold out and those who had waited in line for hours missed getting one on the very first day.
